Karen Pugh, Physiotherapist

I have been a registered physiotherapist for over 30 years. For a lot of that time I worked in teaching hospitals with patients who had various neurological problems (strokes, MS, Parkinsons, brain tumours, aneurysms,  etc.). I then worked for 14 years through the CCAC/LHIN, doing physiotherapy in patients' homes. I have improved the quality of life and mobility for people with cancer, history of falls (or close calls!), osteoporosis, fractures, hip and knee replacements, recent surgery, general frailty, and many types of medical problems. I was also the physiotherapist on the LHIN's community outreach team for stroke.

Unfortunately, many people do not qualify for publicly funded therapy through Home and Community Care Support Services and OHIP-funded outpatient physiotherapy waiting lists can be very long and have eligibility restrictions. This was frustrating for both patients and myself, so in 2012 I decided to start my own private "mobile" physiotherapy business. Through Helping Hands In-Home Physiotherapy I will see you in your own home, but you (or your insurance company) get to pay for it! If you live in Brantford, rates are comparable to what you would pay at a physiotherapy clinic; in the County they are just slightly higher. Receipts are provided.

A doctor's referral is not required unless your insurance company requires it.

If you live in Brantford or Brant County and would like to book an appointment, call Karen at

519-717-1856.
